Embrace Less Daylight
Sure, the days are shorter and we are all a little disappointed when we leave work and realize that it’s already dark. Unfortunately, this is going to be our reality for quite a few months, so we’ve decided to embrace this fact by highlighting one of our favourite iconic fashion styles: black.
You might be thinking that black doesn’t count as a style, but take a peek through fashion history and you’ll see that black is a bold and recurring pattern. Whether we’re talking about Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face or Coco Chanel’s little black dress, dressing in all black is always in style.
Monochromatic outfits as a whole are bold choices, but black makes that choice a little easier. It’s hard to mess up an all black outfit (unless your items were laundered incorrectly and they have faded).
Before we jump into showing you some of our favourite black outfits, here are some quick tips for keeping your black clothes looking like new:
- 1. Keep it cool – Never, ever wash your dark clothing in warm or hot water. Heat really isn’t your friend when it comes to black or other dark colours.
- 2. Stay away from the dryer – Again, heat isn’t going to help your black clothing stay black, so avoid the dryer and hang your items after you wash them.
- 3. Only wash when you need to – If you’re one of those people who takes a shirt off and tosses it right in the hamper, your black clothing will suffer. Only wash black clothing items when they really need it. Spot clean if you need to.
As always, professional clothing care experts will have the equipment and know-how to treat your black clothing items properly, so never hesitate to schedule for Parkers Custom Clothing Care to come and pick up your favourite black clothing items for cleaning. We will make sure that they keep their bold look while also giving them a good clean.
Now, for some of our favourites.
