Holiday Lookbook: Men’s

You now know that we love to dress up our homes for the holidays, so can you imagine how much we love the excuse to dress up ourselves? Parties galore mean more reason than ever to spruce up the old wardrobe – and perhaps get a little creative about what we are wearing.

But for some men, it can be a little difficult to get excited about black pants, a black tie, a white shirt, and perhaps a vest or jacket. Sound familiar? Lots of guys feel like they’re wearing the same outfit, again and again, even after changing up the black tie for a purple one or switching out the black pants for grey and we don’t blame you for lacking enthusiasm about that. While we would argue these small swaps can, in fact, be big changes, we understand what you’re talking about. Dressing up can, rather quickly, feel repetitive.

If you feel this statement resounds with you, let us be excited on your behalf!

Dressing for the holidays doesn’t have to be repetitive this year. Whether it’s a family affair or your company’s holiday party, there’s an outfit out there waiting for you – and you’re gonna look really, really good.

From dress-up casual to black-tie affair, we’ve gathered together a wide variety of looks in the hopes that you’ll feel a renewed enthusiasm for all things festive this month!

We find that a common winter misconception is to steer clear of colours, especially in men’s fashion. Grey and black are timeless options when it comes to suits, and we certainly love a monochromatic look; however, adding a splash of colour is a perfect way to mix up your look in time for the holidays.

Trust us. You can go as bold as a red suit jacket (nothing says “Christmas” in quite the same way, if you ask us!) or as subtle as a plaid bowtie: suddenly that outfit you’re sick of wearing has brand new life added to it.

Now, what if you’re not heading to a fancy party, but rather just heading out with some friends for holiday cocktails? We still recommend opting for something a bit more “done up” than denim, but there are plenty of ways of remaining relatively casual. Pairing a nice knit over your suit pants, choosing a wool overcoat rather than your regular parka, and tying it all together with a good scarf steps up your look, while still looking far from overdressed.

Above all else, remember that the holidays are supposed to be a time of enjoying life more fully by spending time with friends and family, indulging our sweet tooth a little, and reflecting on all the things we are thankful for. It shouldn’t be a time to stress out about proper clothing care, although with speciality fabrics front and center this time of year, that can, unfortunately, be a by-product. So, instead of worrying about your velvet blazer at your work party next week, take a deep breath and remember that we are clothing care professionals. With six locations open post-party, we have all your holiday dry cleaning needs covered.
