Elegantly Casual Wedding Fashion
As frequent wedding blog visitors (ok, more like constant wedding blog visitors), we’ve noticed that weddings taking place on the West Coast often have a lovely casualness about them. Being Toronto dry cleaners, we see a lot of truly glamorous gowns and gush about how jaw-dropping they are, but lately, we’ve also been inspired by the natural feel that comes from fabric details and simple silhouettes.
One of our favourite Canadian wedding photographers seems to get a lot of these elegantly casual weddings, so we went straight to Luke Liable’s website to show you some beautiful examples.
This gown still keeps a traditional bridal fullness, but uses a simple sweetheart neckline to draw the eye immediately up to the bride’s face. She complements this simplicity with a bold fabric flower in her hair, completing the softness of her look.
Who would’ve thought that hiking around the woods in a Vera Wang dress would be such a good idea? This gown looks as at home in the forest as it does on the beach, where they had their ceremony. Wearing her hair down (we notice a trend here!) makes the more formal gown look natural, which is the main characteristic we love about this wedding fashion.
We know you’re not shocked that a beautiful Maggie Sottero lace gown was included in this post. Lace is a beautiful choice for wedding dresses because it can be styled to suit a reception held in a fancy hotel or can be paired with wild flowers and a braided hairstyle to look carefree and rural.
With all of this talk about wedding gowns, we should mention that we are wedding gown preservation specialists. We offer full gown cleaning and preservation with a guarantee against sugar stains or yellowing. Heck, we’ll even pickup and drop off your dress while you’re on your honeymoon! Check out our post “We dry clean while you sunbathe”.
