And the bride wore pink

November 7, 2013

We love a traditional white wedding as much as the next person, but we were pleasantly surprised to see how many unconventional gowns appeared at Bridal Fashion Week 2013 and how many of them were pink! Even big names like Vera Wang had their models walk the runway in bright pink, creating quite a buzz about whether or not this slow shift away from white and ivory might be gaining momentum.

Some of the gowns, like the ones from Maggie Sottero, stuck with familiar silhouettes and the palest of pinks, giving a subtle nod to the trend. Others, like Austin Scarlett, went for it with an almost bubble gum hue and enough ruffles to make Scarlett O’Hara jealous.

Here are some of the dresses that got us thinking about how many brides in 2014 will be opting to wear a dress truly fit for a blushing bride.
