Back to School Clothing Tips
Kids are back to school this week and while it’s a little sad to think of the summer ending, we sure do love fall in all of its crisp air, warm beverage glory. For parents, the start of a new school year can mean purchasing a ton of new clothing or uniform items for kids who will grow out of them or wear them out before the first snowfall. We sympathize with you and have put together 3 tips to help make the most of your kids’ school wardrobe.
The length of a dress or a pair of pants will likely become an issue before your child grows out of the item completely. Choose items that are slightly longer than your child needs at this moment and then have each item hemmed to your desired length. Let your tailor know that you plan on letting the hem back out so that they don’t trim the excess fabric.
Choose natural fabrics when you can. Your kids will love the way that they feel and these fabrics are often the mark of a better made garment. As you know, we are fans of quality over quantity, so consider items you know will last through September. You don’t want to have to go back-to-school shopping again, do you?
If your kids attend a school requiring uniforms, fit is a big reason why you might be hearing complaints about their limited wardrobe. Getting your child’s uniform items properly tailored is a simple act that can make a huge difference. Would you want to wear a shapeless white button up? We wouldn’t either!
