3 Easy House Cleaning Hacks

If you’d love to stay home more often, but it triggers your anxiety because you see a different cleaning job at every turn, it’s time to take things into your own hands with these house cleaning hacks.

One of the reasons we don’t get around to so many cleaning chores (aside from the fact that they are chores!) is thinking that we don’t have the right cleaner, equipment and/or techniques for getting the job done.

But you can scratch almost every home cleaning project from your list with everyday items that you probably have around the house right now.

Try These House Cleaning Hacks

1. All-Purpose Cleaner – You get rid of lots of cleaning chores with this one DIY cleaning solution. And the basic version is just four ingredients. White vinegar may be the best all-round cleaner in your home, including all the store-bought cleaning products. When you combine baking soda and vinegar, you add a mild abrasive for tougher jobs. Then a few drops of dish soap gives your cleaner the power to break down grease and oil. Combine them all in a spray bottle with water and carry it with you all around the house.
2. Rug Cleaning –  Guess what? It starts with white vinegar. This time add a disinfectant, like Lysol, for deep-seated germs, and add rubbing alcohol to help the solution dry faster, so you don’t have wet rugs for too long. Mix them all in hot water to help break down dirt and stains.
3. Fabric Furniture – Try this one on an out-of-the-way spot to make sure it doesn’t harm the fabric. But all you need to do to break up stains and deodorize your couch is sprinkle baking soda on the areas you want to clean. After 20 minutes, vacuum away the baking soda and you’re done.
