How To Clean Dirty Devices and Keep Your Daily Tech Gadgets Clean

If there is anything good that ever comes from the COVID-19 quarantine, it is that we might start keeping our homes and personal belongings a little cleaner. Especially when it comes to our electronic devices, many of which we handle for hours each day. Regular cleaning, even on a daily basis, will not only make them safer to use, but you’ll love how great they look! Here’s how to clean your daily tech gadgets.

When’s the last time you cleaned your phone? Tablet? TV remote? Find out how to clean daily tech gadgets to make them safer and keep you healthier.

3 Ways to Clean Your Tech Devices

You’ll probably have more devices than those listed below, but these can be your guide on how to clean daily tech gadgets and keep them bacteria-free.

  1. Tablet Computers – Everyone loves using the touchscreen on their tablets, but the technology makes them sensitive to cleaning chemicals. Check your operators’ manual before using regular cleaners on the touchscreen. You can use a microfiber cloth dampened with a homemade 50/50 mix of water and alcohol on the back of the tablet. For the screen, to be safe, clean it with a cloth dampened only with water.
  2. The TV Remote Control – Remove the batteries. Dip a clean cloth in rubbing alcohol and thoroughly clean the outside of the remote. Use an alcohol-dipped Q-tip to get into the grooves around each of the buttons and try a toothpick to get the more stubborn deposits. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to make sure the remote is completely dry before reinstalling the batteries.
  3. Smartphones – Perhaps the most important device to clean regularly because of how often you use it and the fact that it may touch your mouth. Look for packaged antibacterial wipes that are okay to use on tech devices and carry them with you.

One more thing about your gadgets. You can reduce your exposure and improve your sleep by avoiding them before bed. And if you need even more help to fall asleep and stay asleep, try a weighted blanket. They have been shown to help with sleep disorders.
