How to Set a Thanksgiving Table
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we can only imagine that your pin boards are beginning to collect recipes, décor, and table setting inspiration. We know that ours sure are. Even though food is always the centerpiece of the event, there’s something to be said for a beautiful table. After all, people always say that you eat with your eyes first.
And after a quick search on Pinterest, there’s no shortage of inspiration in the table setting department. You can spend hours and hours preparing handmade place cards and hunting for mismatched, but coordinating vintage dishes or you could head down to the flower shop and let the blooms set the scene. No matter your taste or time constraints, you can have a lovely Thanksgiving table.
In case you need a nudge in the right direction, here are a couple of tips for setting the perfect Thanksgiving table:
- Nature: Bring some nature onto the table to remind everyone of the harvest season. This can be in the form of gorgeous flowers, interesting gourds, or even branches.
- Layer: Layer plates, layer your centerpiece, layer textiles! If you’re wondering why some tables just look more styled than others, it’s usually a matter of layers.
- Textiles: Even if you’re not in the mood for a formal tablecloth, a simple table runner or placemats will make a big difference on your table. Rich coloured or patterned cloth napkins are a must, especially for a meal that might include cranberry sauce!
