Welcome back to our series on spring cleaning! By now, you’re either feeling like spring cleaning isn’t going to be that bad this year or we’ve introduced you to a bunch of cleaning you didn’t realize needed to be done and now you’re stressed about it. If you’re the former, that’s great! If you’re the latter, we’re sincerely sorry, but we’re also happy to help, so sign yourself up for our dry cleaning pick up and delivery service to make life easier when the time comes to dive in.

Today, we want to talk a little bit about all of your dining areas. Usually, this means a dining room and maybe a breakfast nook or a kitchen island, but if you entertain a lot, this could also include an outdoor space or various spots around your home where you set out cocktails or appetizers. Thankfully, spring cleaning for dining rooms isn’t as much about location as it is about functional textiles.

Spring cleaning your dining spaces should include:

Napkins

If you regularly use your cloth napkins for a meal and then wash them in a home washing machine, they need a professional cleaning at least a few times a year. Have you ever started to set a table and noticed that your best friend’s bright red lipstick you complimented the last time she was over is staring you right in the face even though you washed it? Heck, this even happens at restaurants! A napkin’s job is to get covered in food, so spring is a great time to collect all of your napkins and send them out for a proper cleaning.

Tablecloths

Similarly to napkins, but even harder to get clean at home, your tablecloths will need a professional cleaning a few times a year. Candle wax, along with food and wine stains are a tablecloth’s biggest enemies, which is why we have a cleaning process to deal with all of these tough stains. First, we soak everything in large tubs to get rid of the stains and then gently wash your table linens to get them nice and clean. Finally, we finish the process off either by machine or by hand, depending on the item, to ensure that there are no wrinkles. The next time you’re setting the table for a dinner party, you’ll have freshly cleaned and pressed table linens!

Under-the-table rugs

We went over the importance of deep rug cleaning in the last blog post, but it’s worth mentioning again when we’re talking about dining areas. The rugs under your tables have a tough job. They collect all kinds of food particles and then are often only partially cleaned because you’re in a rush and don’t want to pull out all of the chairs and move the table in order to really get under there. We don’t blame you! You’re busy and sometimes spot vacuuming is the best you can do. Well, spring is here and now is your chance to give those rugs a full cleaning. We won’t even make you cart them over to us; just schedule a dry cleaning pick up and delivery at no additional charge and we will take care of the rest.

Now that you’ve made your spring cleaning list, feel free to ask us any questions you have in the comments below! We’re going to move on from spring cleaning next week, but don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about how to tackle tough stains in your home.
