London Fashion Week Left Us Wanting More
Oh, what we wouldn’t have given to be across the pond last week! London Fashion Week just closed its Autumn/Winter 2014 runways, but luckily there are still loads of photos and video to keep us going until the Spring/Summer 2015 season. We have definitely come to expect originality and cutting-edge creativity from the designers showcasing during LFW and we were not let down in the slightest this year; we are still buzzing all the way across the Atlantic!
It would be impossible to share all of the highlights from the five days of shows, but we have painstakingly picked some of our personal favorites for you to enjoy:
Burberry’s Bohemia
There was a lot of hype about Burberry Prorsum’s line this year, for very good reason. We adore the flowing, layered prints just as much as the monogrammed woolen blankets casually worn as outerwear. We are totally sold on this grown-up boho. And, can we please just talk about those bags for a moment? Hand-painted leather may be our new definition of luxury.

More is More
We also saw a cohesive move towards more this season: more prints, more layers, more textile design, more detailing.
Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos had us convinced that this could be a good move, with their bold maximalism (think: opposite of minimalism). With colours this warm, next winter doesn’t look too bad:

Taking a different, but no less effective, approach was Christopher Kane. We were instantly wooed by how much more he did with fabric.

The High Street
While we love dreaming about all the looks we see on the runway, when something is wearable and affordable, it becomes an instant favorite. As always, Topshop Unique’s collection married of-the-moment fashion with a ready-to-wear aesthetic. The best part? With their Queen Street location, these looks are completely available to us here in Toronto and we know just how to take care of them for you!
(Not to mention, the royal blue of the cropped cable-knit is one of the coming season’s hottest colours, and as it’s pretty much universally flattering, we couldn’t be happier.)
