No matter how much you love the dress, read the care label before you purchase . . .

Last week I had to explain to one of our customers why we could not clean her garment. And the garment was a “favourite”

Tiffany came in with a gorgeous gray and black printed mini. The black areas all across the hips were covered with gold square beads. Tiffany wore it to a party over the weekend and had beer spilled down the front. She needed to have her “favourite” dress cleaned.

While inspecting Tiffany’s dress, I noticed that the gold square beads were glued on to her dress. In fact, there were three locations where the beads were already missing.

I had to explain to Tiffany, that if Parkers cleaned her dress there was a very good chance that all of the beads would fall off, as they were glued on. We did not want to take the chance of having this happen. We advised Tiffany to take the garment back to the store for proper cleaning instructions.

With back to school and work season just around the corner, always read a care label before purchasing garments to ensure that they can be properly washed, or dry cleaned.  Always follow care label instructions for best care results of your new garments
